Importing a vehicle that’s
25 years or older
falls under a concessional import scheme known as the
“25 Year Rule.”
This scheme allows enthusiasts to bring in classic and collectible vehicles with fewer compliance requirements.
Here’s how it works:
Your vehicle must be at least 25 years old, based on its build date - whichever is later between:
● The month and year it was first completed or manufactured, or
● The date of its last significant modification.
Apply for
Concessional RAV Entry Approval
via the government’s
ROVER portal
. You’ll need to provide:
● Proof of ownership
● Evidence of the vehicle’s build date
● Supporting documentation for the application
